The Circuit: Executor Rising by Rhett C. Bruno
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I liked the book and I think I’ll read a few more in the series. I’m somewhat picky about a couple of things though. I haven’t seen many Sci-Fi authors understand orbital mechanics. They describe movement in space that doesn’t work.
The characters are fully developed and they don’t fall into the typical Sci-Fi hero, heroine stereotype which was refreshing. I do need to caution readers that there is graphic violence. The violence does support the story and isn’t gratuitous, so you just have to be prepared for it.
The protagonists are unusual and I hope the evil is defined better in the follow-up books. I thought the evil was a little shallow and there is a major source of conflict in the story that I think the author could have developed better. He missed an opportunity to really define the evil and help the reader appreciate the conflict.
